How does it work?

Step 1. Tell us your search imperatives

You or your trainer contacts us to discuss your riding goals and describe what you're looking for in your new horse that would make the two of you a perfect match.

We try to gain the fullest picture possible of your abilities and goals as a rider. We want to know your personality as a rider– what traits in a horse make you feel comfortable and confident? Together, we quantify everything that's important to you, including age, gender, color, size, type of movement, competition record, breeding, and personality traits. This is the most important part of SWB's process, and what we feel is a key factor in the long-term success of our client and horse matches.

Once we have a detailed picture of that ideal horse and a price range has been established, we go to work to locate top prospects that will be strong matches for you. We spend the time on careful custom matching and our meticulous pre-selection criteria ensures that once you arrive in Europe, you will spend your valuable time looking at horses suited to your goals and compatible with your riding.

Step 2. Book your horse shopping tour with your personal guide

Our top priority is for you to relax and have a great time on your horse shopping trip, while we take care of everything for you.

We'll assist with all of your travel arrangements and bookings.
You'll be greeted at the airport by your Personal Dedicated Tour Guide and driven to your hotel. As soon as you're rested and ready, we'll drive you to the barn or barns where you'll see and ride your slate of preselected horses based on your search criteria.
We are happy to video your rides so you and your trainer can evaluate each horse afterwards. (If your trainer is not accompanying you, we can send daily video links to your trainer at home. SWB welcomes the chance to collaborate with your "home team" by conference or video conference calls or emails).
Once you narrow down the candidates to the best ones for you, then we'll schedule your second and third rides if you wish.

Your Personal Dedicated Tour Guide will accompany you throughout your entire stay from airport pick up, through driving you to the barns for horse trials, taking you to your hotel, and taking you back to the airport in the end of your trip, as well as catering to your individual requests.

To make your horse trials more enjoyable and avoid driving long distances, we do our best to arrange all of the horses to be tried in one location. This solution allows for spending more time with the horses and taking advantage of some of the european attractions, sightseeing, visiting tack shops or equestrian events.

Your horse shopping trip is a custom trip designed to meet your specific goals. So please, don't hesitate to share with us any and all of your wishes and we'll do everything possible to fulfill them. You'll find the largest selection of top sport horses for sale in Europe, however a smaller selection of sport warmbloods for sale can also be tried in the USA.

Step 3. Horse Purchase, Vetting and Insurance

By now we hope you've found a horse that as we say, "you never want to get off!" Once you've made a decision to buy, the next step is a pre-purchase exam with a vet of your choice or you can choose one of the local independent vets. If your usual vet cannot be present at the vetting, the vetting report and x-rays can be sent to your vet at home for his evaluation. Your vet can also be patched in via phone with the vet performing the exam. Upon acceptance of the vetting, you sign the purchase agreement and the horse will start getting ready to be transported to your barn.

We recommend you insure your horse as soon as you complete the bill of sale. If you don’t have an insurance company you work with, we can provide you with a list of companies in your home country.

Then it's back to the hotel for a champagne toast!

Step 4. Barn to Barn Service

While you return home to your busy life, we handle every aspect of getting your new horse delivered to your barn. We handle all of the arrangements pertaining to:

road and air transport
required import export documents and permits
required blood, CEM testings for your horse's flight
quarantine arrangements if required at your home country
